1.The
teacher writes on the bb the phrase ‘The place where we live’,
and she asks Ss to tell her if they like living in the city, if
any of them has ever lived in the country and if they liked the
experience. Then she asks: What
things do you like of living in Rosario? What
don’t you like? Why?

look answer the questions by saying if they like living in the
city, which things they like, which not, what they would change,
etc.

Then, the T asks Ss to go to page 47 on the book and to look at
the pictures. She asks them to describe what they see. ‘What
can you see in pictures 1 and 2? What is the difference between
these places? Are there any similarities between them? Look at the
following words and think about how you would use them to describe
the pictures. Take 2 minutes to think which words you would use to
describe the pictures and which not (you may put ticks or circle
the words you
choose): noisy expensive peaceful boring lively clean unpolluted cheap friendly polluted unfriendly dirty So, tell me: Do you think picture 1 shows a noisy or a quiet place? What about the other words? Do you think it is expensive to live there? |

The sts open the book , look at the pictures, describe the
pictures and answer the T’s questions.
The
Ss use the words in the list to describe the places in the images.

3.WHILE
– SPEAKING

The T asks Ss to work in pairs: One S will be given a picture of a
city and the other, of the countryside. They will both have to
tell each other about the picture they have (using some of the
expressions on page 46 or others) and, while each of them listens,
they have to make notes. After 15’, the one who made notes will
have to share some info. in 2 or 3 sentences about their partner’s
picture with the rest of the class. |
3.
Sts work in pairs: Each of them has to describe briefly the
picture they have and, later, they have to report to the rest of
the class.

My best speaking plan (1st part)
Main learning outcome: By the end of this lesson, Ss will
be able to look at a picture and expand their linguistic resources to
describe it.
